To Kill A Mockingbird Was Banned in stanford Middle school in California for eighth graders, because they was uncomfortable with the use of racial Slurs. So it was protested and banned.
I dont think it should not been banned,because it is a book about the south and how a single white lawyer help a blackmen with a rape case that a white girl accused him off. It let people know how and what blackmen had to go through for even talking to a white girl. so it ws wrong for not letting the eigth graders to read such and horrific book in my opinon. The author Harper Lee did her best making people feel each characters thoughts and feelings.
Why it so hard for adults and kids to talk about Race and the time peroid of slavery in the united states?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Siah, it should'nt be so hard to talk about race in the U.S. Our class obvouisly does'nt have a hard time after that guy came to talk in our class.
